06:57 pm - The Most Girly of All
When a dear friend of mine found out her second child was going to be a girl, I set out to design and knit the most girly baby blanket I could think of. And I think I succeeded.
Pattern: My own design, knit center-out, with motifs from the Barbara Walker treasuries. I tracked it all with an Excel spreadsheet.
Yarn: Knitpicks Bare worsted superwash merino, 11 hanks.
Needles: US size 8, set of 5 Clover bamboo dpns for the center start, moved to 29" Clover bamboo circs, moved to Knitpicks Options with 60" cable.
Yes, it's kind of big. For a sense of scale, in the pictures it's laid out on a queen-size bed.
( Speaking of pictures, here are a few... )
You can see these pics as well as closeups of the various motifs in the Flickr set.

07:01 pm - Have a scarfy Christmas
My mom's two sisters wanted me to knit them scarves (well, one did, then the other whined that the first one got all the hand-made stuff and how come she never got anything), and today they are finally done and blocking festively. Now if they would only take themselves to the post office....

Hopefully the aunties will be happy. :)

09:46 pm - 2 are better than 1?
There is a wild post-op kitty trying to dig her way out of our second bathroom.
She has to stay in there for 2 days, then we're going to try to get her used to the house and the inside kitty (and the inside kitty used to her). So far he's kind of timid about her, but we'll see how long that lasts.
Here she is, Little Miss.
